Rivian to Open Up Delivery Van Sales to Other Companies

Amazon's 100,000-Vehicle Order No Longer Exclusive

Rivian's Fleet to Expand Beyond Amazon's Reach

Electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian has announced that it will no longer limit the sale of its delivery vans to Amazon. The move comes as Rivian seeks to expand its customer base and increase production of its vehicles.

In 2019, Amazon placed an order for 100,000 custom electric delivery vans from Rivian. The order was seen as a major boost for Rivian, which was a relatively new company at the time. Since then, Amazon has deployed over 10,000 of these vehicles for deliveries across the United States.

Rivian has not yet turned a profit, and the company has faced production delays in recent months. However, the company believes that opening up sales of its delivery vans to other companies will help it to scale up production and achieve profitability.

Rivian's delivery vans are designed to be efficient and environmentally friendly. The vehicles have a range of up to 250 miles on a single charge and can carry up to 1,800 pounds of cargo.
